About the Site
This site came into being after I saw the Angel episode, Reunion. I'd always loved both Drusilla and Darla, but seeing them together in this episode was... well, amazing. :-) I first saw the episode on Friday 9th March 01, did the design on the Saturday, and began working on content on the Sunday. Unfortunately, I have that pesky work thing in the week, so things slowed down after that, and the site opened on 3rd April. The site moved to destiny-free.net and version 1.1 on 2nd September '02, then to Freaky.nu on 14th July '03.

The title is obviously a play on 'A Room With a View', and also comes partly from Darla's love of a view, and Drusilla's wish to have Darla's re-birth near the stars. Anyway, I think it has a nice ring to it. *g* Amusingly, Spike used the phrase in Season 6 of BtVS. Heh.

The site was created using Allaire Homesite 4.5, and MS Notepad, and the graphics were created using Paint Shop Pro 7, with brushes from Faded and Nocturna.net. It is optimised for viewing in 16 bit+ colour, on a screen resolution of 800x600, but should be fine using 640x480 upwards. I strongly recommend using a browser which is stylesheet (CSS) and Javascript compatible (Netscape or IE 4 +), although again the site will be viewable (though less pretty) on older browsers.

Credits

  • The screencaps used for the site graphics, banners and buttons etc came from ATS: Who Says You Can't Have It All & TheSlayer.net, Whispers From the Moon, The Slayer Show, and Heavenly Creature.
  • I also found Psyche's Transcripts and The Buffy Shooting Script Site invaluable resources for digging up quotes, and checking episodes and dates for the timeline.

    Thanks

  • Rae for pointing me in the direction of Rave's screencaps, and Rave for letting me use them for the site graphics!
  • Luna and Noxy - for pointing out the wonders of stylesheets and tables to me, and for inspiring me to keep trying to improve my sites, and experiment with a background colour other than black.... ;-) (Hey, Noxy, would druda be the opposite of spang?.... Heehee)
  • Nightbird, Anji, and Angelsbitch for going "Oooo" and approving the title. :-)
