Julie Benz was born in 1975, and is from Pittsburgh, USA. She had intended to follow her father's footsteps and become a doctor, but the discovery that she was extrememly squeamish (she even has trouble with fake blood) put her off of this.

Between the ages of 3 and 16, she was seriously involved in ice-skating, and competed professionally. However, an injury ended this career, and it was after this that she began to concentrate on acting. She studied acting at NYU, then moved to Los Angeles.

Julie has had parts in a number of television series' and feature films, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, Roswell, All My Children, Jawbreaker, and As Good As It Gets.

She currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two dogs, and loves shopping and cooking.

I was lucky enough to meet Julie at the Nocturnal 2K convention in June 2000. I found her friendly, sweet, and funny, and her talks were interesting and enjoyable. Unfortunately, my camera was on the fritz, but the photos I did manage to get (from a distance!) are below:
